Surplus is the extra product that owners do not use for themselves.
Surplus is not Profit. Profit occurs if and only if surplus is sold for price above cost.
When consumer have enough property ownership, they have no need to buy surplus, and so surplus becomes waste to be composted, or as a signal to reduce growth.
